Meet Mrs. Moore

I wanted to be a teacher as long as I can remember. Around the age of 9, I asked my mother “When you retire, can I have your job?” Seeing my mother come home and share stories about teaching and the children she has touched and helped has inspired my life direction. Teaching is a dream and a passion that has always been evident in my life and I am so happy to be living my dream! (My mother did retire recently and was honored by her school district with the Inspiration Award! She continues to inspire me to grow as a teacher each year!)

I am originally from Plymouth, Massachusetts, where I spent five years teaching first grade in my home town and received my Masters in Education with a concentration in Reading from Curry College. I attended Rollins College in Florida to receive my Bachelor’s in elementary education with an ESOL endorsement. This will be my 12th year teaching (6th at Jackson)!

When I am not lesson planning, I am at home with my husband loving on our sweet baby girl Sierra (born October 2016) and our crazy dog Sophie. We try to fit in short hikes around Atlanta as a family and tackle small DIY projects! We still manage to get out from time to time and support our new soccer team Atlanta United!

This summer was filled with new adventures from the eyes of an infant! We went to the beach, lake, zoo, hiking and spent lots of time with family! I love seeing all she is learning and how much she is growing each day!

My Teaching Philosophy:

Every child can learn and has the right to learn, but every child does not learn the same way!
