100th Day and MLK jr

Our first day back after the long weekend was a buy one! It was the 100th day of the school. The children took the number 100 and used their creative imagination to transform it into a picture. Here is a sneak peak at a few of the masterpieces.




We also talked about the positive difference we can make in the world in conjunction to MLK day yesterday. We read a nice story called The Other Side. Ask your child to tell you about the story and how the young girls made a difference. Following the story we listened to the song My Two Hands by Ben Harper. If you have never heard it, the lyrics are worth listening to. The children wrote about how they can make the world a better place with thier own hands. (we tried to go into the symbolism of he is talking about more than just his hands, but that got a bit more confusing 🙂 ) Here are some of the ways the children will help make the world brighter:
