Early in the week, to get ready for election day, we read some books about elections and presidents. We talked about why we have elections and how they work. Our special books of the week are all about voting and presidents.
The children wrote about what they would do to make the world a better place if they were president. They came up with some great ideas: make a law to ban smoking, stop pollution and littering, use more solar panels, no using guns (unless you are a police officer), etc. They are on display outside the classroom!
Also to kick off our Long Ago and Today IB unit. The children have been exploring through books of past presidents like our first one George Washington!
