Have you noticed your child is a bit quieter these days? Maybe it is because we have been practicing our sign language in school! We use sign language signs to identify what we are raising our hand for. They use different signs for answer, comment, question, bathroom, and drink. We have learned a new one almost every day! It makes things a little quieter in the classroom and clarifies the hand raising. Also it helps the children think about what they are raising their hand for. Is it a question or a comment? Furthermore, the children can use sign to show me what they need, instead of interrupting me when I am working with a child.
We have even learned the chorus of America the Beautiful! Ask your child to teach you some signs at home 🙂
