The children have finished up the next phase of Lucy Calkins’ Writing Workshop. The students were working on writing personal narratives for readers. They wrote great stories about small moments in their lives and stretched them out over several pages.
The children always enjoy the “fix and fancy” process of the writing. Last week they took time to edit their writing, add more details, and fancy up the pictures and pages with page numbers, borders, etc.
Today the children got to share their stories in front of the class before adding it to the “special book” section of the classroom library! We celebrated their hard work by making words with scrabble cheez-its and eating them too! 🙂
